Initially, when I considered trading platform affiliates, MetaTrader 5 was the one I kept seeing most often.
It was even a simple question: Does MT5 indeed have a direct affiliate program? And if brokers are running MT5-based programs instead, are they really worth my time?
Thinking about it more and more, I unearthed a little piece of information. Surprisingly, the solution is not as simple as you probably thought, but it is actually better than only having one program at our disposal.
What Is Actually Going On With MT5 Affiliate Marketing?
My findings were these: MetaTrader 5, which is the software swallowed, doesn’t run a traditional affiliate program where you just register directly with MetaQuotes (the owners of MT5). Rather, it is the hundreds of brokers who offer the MT5 platform that provide the affiliate opportunity.
MT5 is the software, the engine of a car. Brokers are the car manufacturers who build the model around the engine. Each broker forms their own affiliate program, and a big number of these programs are very profitable.
Great thing is that this way of doing things, you are not constrained to promoting one company only. In fact, you can work with multiple MT5 brokers at once, not only earning through different channels but also leveraging a platform that is widely known and trusted by traders.
What Makes Brokers Keep Giving MT5 Affiliate Programs
It has become a norm. Among 1,500 more than worldwide, brokers offer MT5, and there is a good reason to do that. By giving traders the opportunity to use MT5, brokers are essentially handing them the keys to a multi-asset platform that not only deals with forex but also stocks, commodities, and cryptocurrencies all under one roof.
This is what we as affiliates are interested in because, compared to campaigns for lesser-known platforms, MT5 affiliate campaigns convert 15-25% more on average. The name is known by traders. They have faith in the technology. This recognition leads straight to greater conversion rates of your referral links.
Structures
One-time payment per qualified trader
Ongoing commission from trader activity
Upfront CPA + ongoing revenue share
When I reviewed the affiliate programs of various MT5 brokers, I discovered three primary compensation types. Each type can be more suitable in certain situations depending on the target audience and marketing method.
Cost Per Acquisition (CPA)
This is the most straightforward method. You earn a one-time commission when a person that you have referred registers and fulfills the requirements (usually depositing and trading a minimum volume). Commissions normally vary from $200 to $1,500 for each qualified trader.
Predictability is what I like about CPA. You will always be sure of what you will get for each conversion. If you have a good quality traffic but your volume is not very high yet, CPA could be a source of steady income for you.
Revenue Share
With revenue share, you can make a certain percent of the broker’s turnover that is generated by the clients referred by you. These types of arrangements typically offer a share of between 20% and 50% of the broker’s revenue from the referred clients. Some brokers are even offering very generous terms. There are various programs of some brokers that offer up to 70%.
So, referring to this one, you are rewarded for bringing in active traders. The higher the trading volume of your referrals, the higher the level of your earnings will be. In fact, it is a source of passive income once you have launched the system.
Hybrid Models
Currently, many brokers provide a combination of offers where you get paid on both an upfront CPA basis and continuous revenue share. Here, you have immediate cash flow, plus you can also generate long-term recurring income.
In my experience, hybrids are very effective if you are doing a content creation or community building. On one hand, you get paid for the new acquisitions, on the other hand, you enjoy the ongoing value of the traders.

Attracts serious traders with higher deposits and trading volume
Having collaborated with various trading platform affiliate programs, I must say that MT5-based options offer a number of unique advantages that should be on your radar.
Platform Recognition
MetaTrader 5 is globally recognized by traders. So, when you market a broker that has MT5 on its offering, most of your marketing time won’t be wasted in explaining what the platform is all about. This way, you get to highlight the broker’s other features such as spreads, execution speeds, or customer support.
Multi-Asset Appeal
In contrast with MT4 which is mainly a forex platform, MT5 is a versatile platform that allows traders to access stocks, indices, commodities, and even cryptocurrencies. This wider reach has given you a chance to market to different kinds of audiences without even having to change platforms.
Advanced Features That Sell Themselves
MT5 is equipped with a number of features that are highly valued by traders. The features include 21 different timeframes for chart analysis, over 80 built-in technical indicators, and the capability to perform automated trading through Expert Advisors.
This is the very reason why it is considered as an advanced platform, the challenge however is that it appeals to serious traders, those who are ready to deposit high amounts. With that kind of clients, the broker will be able to generate substantial revenue share payments to you over time.
Professional Credibility
Marketing with MT5 means you are associating your brand with professional-grade technology. You build trust easily with your potential customers when you present well-known, professional platforms as opposed to promoting unknown ones.
Common Challenges and How I Handle Them
Each affiliate program has its own set of challenges. Here is what I have found from working with MT5 broker programs and the steps I take.
Competition
MT5 being popular means many affiliates are promoting the platform. I set myself apart by focusing more on specific niches. Instead of creating a general “best MT5 broker” article, I present specialized topics such as “best MT5 brokers for scalping” or “MT5 brokers with the fastest execution speeds”.
Platform Complexity
The advanced nature of MT5 can be off-putting to novices. I combat this by designing easy-to-understand tutorials that successfully unravel the complicated aspects of the platform. Once a person knows how to operate the platform, their registration and initiation to trading are basically made for them.
Broker Reputation Issues
Not all brokers offering MT5 are trustworthy. Therefore, I only recommend a broker after doing in-depth research of the company. If a client has a negative experience with a broker that I recommended, my position as a credible source will be permanently compromised.
The Mobile and Web Trading Advantage
One of the features of MT5 that is not fully recognized is its ability to operate across different devices and platforms. The software can be used easily on desktop computers, via web browsers, and on mobile phones, too.
It has marketing implications because, through MT5, you can run advertising campaigns targeting people using any device of their choice. Mobile users can keep an eye on the market and make trades from their phones. Those using the web do not have to install any program. The users working from desktops get the complete professional experience.
The provision of these options results in an increase of your estimated market size and at the same time, your conversion rates.
Future Outlook for MT5 Affiliate Programs
The financial market is constantly changing, with MT5 at the forefront of those changes. The reason why more and more brokers are choosing MT5 instead of MT4 is because of its multi-asset functionality and state-of-the-art design.
MT5 being a 64-bit platform means it can manage more information and perform more sophisticated trading strategies than MT4. In other words, the platform is technically superior and, so, it is here to stay. Your work establishing an audience around MT5 will not be thrown away.
Brokers that are new to the market almost always opt for MT5 instead of MT4 nowadays. This situation keeps on giving you new partnership options.
