Docs · Targeting

All targeting options explained

Targeting decides which visitors and placements qualify for a campaign; it is set once per campaign and applies to every ad in it. Each dimension can be left empty (any), set to include only the values you list, or set to exclude the values you list. Every include narrows the pool; excludes keep reach wide and trim only what you name.

Check the volume before you narrow

The Volumes page in the sidebar shows daily impressions and the minimum and average bid per GEO, device and OS for each ad format. The same data, refreshed weekly, is published on the traffic volume page. If a combination shows little volume there, a campaign targeting it will not spend.

Starting points

  • Include only what the offer truly requires (the GEO, the device for a mobile-only product) and leave the rest empty.
  • After the first day, add excludes from the Statistics report rather than tightening includes.
  • Save lists you reuse as Filters so every campaign attaches the same block list.
