Tracking macros and tokens

Macros are tokens in curly braces in the destination URL. At the moment of the click the platform replaces each with its real value, so your tracker receives the click ID, source, GEO and other details as ordinary query-string parameters. On every ad form the available macros appear as clickable chips under the Destination URL field; clicking one appends it.

Example

https://your-tracker.example/click?cid={tracking}&zone={spaceid}&sub={subid}&geo={country}&dev={device_type}

Macro reference

MacroValue passed
{tracking}Reacheffect click ID. Required for conversions and postbacks to attribute to the click.
{cid}An external click ID received on the click-through (an upstream network's own ID). Not the campaign ID, and not the cid parameter in ?cid={tracking}, which carries Reacheffect's own click ID.
{campaignid}Campaign ID.
{adid}Ad (creative) ID.
{campaign_name}Campaign name.
{subid}Source ID of the traffic source the click came from (may be delivered encoded; stable per source).
{spaceid}Ad zone (placement) ID.
{pid}Publisher account ID.
{domain}Domain the ad ran on.
{country}Two-letter country code of the visitor.
{region_name}Region of the visitor.
{city_name}City of the visitor.
{device_type}Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet).
{device_name}Device name.
{os_name}Operating system.
{lang}Browser language.
{ispid}ISP ID.
{bansize}Creative size as WIDTHxHEIGHT.
{keywords}Matched keywords (redirect campaigns).
{paid}What you paid for this click or impression.
{timestamp}Unix timestamp of the click.
{uvid}Unique visitor ID.
{sid1} … {sid10}The ten sub-ID slots a publisher's ad tag can pass; typed by hand, not offered as chips.

Notes

  • Not every macro is meaningful for every format; an unmatched token is left in place. Test one click through your tracker before scaling.
  • {tracking} is the only token conversions need. Everything else is for your reports.
  • Source IDs may be encoded; the encoded value is stable per source, so whitelists and blacklists built from it keep working.
  • The same macros work in a third-party impression-tracking URL on an ad.
